Introduction
There are two main areas of Christianity, the first and most important is salvation and the second is Christian living. Many well-meaning Christians muddy the dividing line between the two and thereby create a lot of confusion by promoting erroneous ideas. For example, some believe that the moment someone becomes a Christian they should be perfect, "sin free" and have no further problems or struggles with sin. Within this aberrant view, for those who are seen to still be struggling with some kind of sin, their salvation is called into question. This is a common false teaching that denies the clear biblical teaching that no one (not even a Christian) is sin-free. The Christian life is a growing and maturing process where struggles with various sins can be overcome by study of (and adherence to) the Bible's refreshing and liberating teachings in these areas. Christianity is logical. It makes sense. It is not a blind faith and God does not expect us to just "take it on faith" (meaning without knowledge and evidence to back it up). Otherwise He wouldn't have bothered to supply us with so much endless proof that irrefutably establishes the validity and truth of Christianity and its teachings. God wants us to use our common sense otherwise He would not have said "Come let us reason together" as we see in Isaiah 1:18 or "In all your getting get understanding" as we see in Proverbs 4:7. Therefore I encourage you to have an Acts 17:11 "heart of the Berean" as it is commonly referred to. The Apostle Paul commended the Bereans for searching the Scriptures daily and thereby making sure that what he taught was accurate. I encourage you to do the same. If the Apostle Paul welcomed being checked out, how much more should I or any other Christian welcome being checked out as well!
